What does a typical day look like…

Oversee the efficient operations of the Polyethics’ Maintenance Department. Supervise six+ (6+) internal staff, project coordinator(s) / planner(s) and external contractors. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Leader will coordinate the safe operation, repair, and maintenance on all conversion, extrusion and related equipment that Polyethics operates. The role would coordinate the installation of equipment, and any construction, building maintenance and repairs required at all plant locations. Provide general administration, order equipment or parts as required and assist in the ongoing maintenance.

Supervise, direct, train and oversee the work of the Maintenance team while promoting teamwork, quality, and continuous improvement. The Manager ensures the safe operation of equipment, oversees the efficient running of the department and ensures that all appropriate Health and Safety, and Polyethics’ Policies and Procedures are adhered to.

50% front line maintenance and 50% planning, coordinating & leading the rest of the maintenance team

What are we looking for?

  • Millwright (433A) and/or Industrial Electrician (442A) license in good standing with Ontario College of Trades
  • Relevant maintenance experience (to include maintaining multiple facilities, electrical knowledge, and general machine repair)
  • Well organized, strong attention to detail and accuracy with solid customer service
  • Ability to multi-task and perform well under pressure
  • Basic knowledge of computers
  • Capacity to effectively communicate, and provide clear direction to others
  • Enthusiastic and motivated individuals

Maintenance Mechanic

Be part of a fast-paced team working on a variety of equipment including state of the art extrusion and bag converting lines. We are a growing company looking to expand our maintenance department to match increased capacity being installed. Working under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager, you will help maintain the machines and premises at Polyethics.

What does a typical day may look like?

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on all machines (bag converting, extrusion, hydraulic or electric lift carts, blenders, vacuum pumps, etc.) located at our plants with minimal ‘down’ time
  • Establish and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for all plants
  • Participate in discussions around process improvements, equipment upgrades, etc.
  • Maintain an inventory of products and supplies for general maintenance
  • Order parts as required, with approval from the Operations Manager, and/or coordinate with the office for purchase orders and packing slips
  • Perform minor repairs on plumbing and appliances, heating, ventilation, lights, and fixtures as required
  • Work with the maintenance team to provide general maintenance of the buildings and related equipment as required and requested
  • Maintain cleanliness and a safe work environment at all times
  • Assist with all work orders as received, maintain clear, concise and accurate reports as required
  • Follow safe operating procedures, wear all required personal protective gear

What are we looking for?

  • Someone highly motivated, well organized and team-oriented
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds 
  • Ability to work overtime, on-call or day/evening shift as required
  • Enthusiastic and motivated individuals
  • Must be flexible to work overtime as needed
  • Preferably two years’ experience in general plant maintenance, machine operations;
  • Working at Heights & Elevated Work Platform training an asset

Manufacturing Associate

What is the pay rate? $15.00/hr – $15.25/hr -$.25 premium is added for night shift

What will you be doing here? – Working in a team environment on a production floor – Loading and unloading material Repetitive lifting – Visual inspection of products for defects – Operate a bag machine and produce bags – Perform regular quality checks and strive to achieve elimination of waste and a reduction in defects – Communicate and work cooperatively with your supervisor and members of your shift team.

**This position is on a continental shift, 12-hour shifts, rotating from days to nights every two weeks.

– 7 shifts in a pay period, which equals 84 hours in a two week period.

– Scheduled to work every other weekend.

– The hours are from 7 am to 7 pm during the day shift, switching to 7 pm to 7 am during the night shift, bi-weekly.
